I asked him to do WHAT???
Before I knew what I was talking about, I was asking my coworker SV whether he'd be my partner in a two-person Winnipeg Police Service half-marathon relay at the end of April! And he said yes.
I'd be responsible for running about 10.5 km. Yikes! My original goal was to run the 10K at the Calgary Marathon in July (which was my secret goal, never revealed online). And here I am, moving up the timeline by almost 2.5 months!
Looking at the times of last year's event, with me being a slow runner, me and SV would be...um, near the end.
Sorry SV. You know not what you get into, having me drag you down. He says he has not been training. He's also 10 years younger than me and could probably run a 30 minute 10 K tomorrow.
I did my long slow run on Sunday...7 miles. YAY ME! (I didn't run Monday because I am totally babying my left quad/hip flexor.) So I know I am capable of running the 6.5 miles...okay, I can run/walk for sure. It will take me about 1:10 :-( but hey...I'm faster than the guy on the couch. And getting off the couch is what it's all about.

you animal you! LOL! yuo're gonna do great! The biggest step is taking that first step to sign up. Just stay on top of your power food...if you start to feel spent, work out the foods and you'll be good to go. and you're right...it doesn't matter how fast you are, as long as you're off the couch! You'll be surprised at how many people will be behind you, LOL!
