Freedom 35???

It's probably the stress talking, but I had a fantasy that I quit work today. Just turned on my heel and walked out. My kids miss out on so much because I work. My mom misses out on so much. If I cacked tomorrow, would anyone at work even miss me? No. But my family would.

I got into a bit of hot water today because I have to take my mom to the clinic tomorrow for some gum work. Ewww. They said it would be about 2.5 to 3 hours. Because she's not insured, she gets her work done at the dental school. Hey, they all gotta learn somewhere, and she saves about 30%. She's already postponed her appointment twice, and the school shuts down in mid-April...it was now or never. Next time I'll get the Husband to take care of it for me - hey, it's his children's childcare provider, right?

I missed out on my run yesterday because I didn't get home until 10 PM. I ran 6.2 miles today. It felt good.

I'm not so discouraged about being a slow runner. First, I've haven't been running all that long - 7 months (okay, I did have a 2.5 month hiatus). Second, my colleague NB tells me that when he started running 3 years ago, he ran at 5.5 miles per hour. Now he's close to 8 miles per hour. So there's hope for me!

I've been working bit-by-bit on a layout. It's the first time ever that I've used a whole piece of patterned paper as the background. I used to think it was so tacky a la CM style (they call it wallpapering) but the patterned paper isn't that bold or boring. I'm doing JulieD's This or That Challenge over at Love is in the Details :-) But not tonight, I'm mentally done for tonight :-(

(((oh Tee!))) I can't wait for the day when you have the perfect opportunity to say, take this job and SHOVE IT! on the other hand, I'm sorta beginning to wonder how I'm going to handle working, if I get this job? yikes!

wtg on the running! Did I ever tell you that when dh and I were dating, we ran together. I was SO slow, he would walk FAST BACKWARDS! Talk about feeling like a slug, lol! We all have to start somewhere, it sounds like you are doing great. :o)
